This Privacy Policy explains how HouseDoctor (“HouseDoctor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “App”) and our website (the “Site”). We aim to collect only the information necessary to operate, secure, and improve HouseDoctor.

Diagnostic content: When you use HouseDoctor, you may upload photos, videos, and text descriptions of home issues (for example, leaks, cracks, or damaged fixtures).
Support communications: If you contact us by email or through the Site, we collect the information you provide in your message (such as your name, email address, and the contents of your inquiry).
Other voluntary information: You may choose to provide additional information (for example, survey responses or feedback) to help us improve the App.

1.2 Subscription Account Information

We do not require you to create an account to use the basic version of the App. However, if you choose to purchase a paid subscription or access premium features, we may collect:
Account details: Name, email address, and password or other authentication credentials.
Billing information: Limited payment‑related information such as card type and last four digits, handled primarily by our third‑party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App or Site, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as:
Device type, operating system, and device identifiers.
App version and settings.
IP address and general location (city/region level, not precise GPS).
Log data such as timestamps, pages or screens viewed, and features used.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve HouseDoctor.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and provide the App and Site: Including processing your diagnostic submissions, generating suggested fixes, and displaying relevant content.
  • To improve and develop HouseDoctor: Understanding how users interact with the App, improving AI models, training and tuning algorithms, and troubleshooting issues.
  • To provide customer support: Responding to questions, comments, and requests.
  • To manage subscriptions and payments: Including account creation, authentication, subscription status, billing‑related communications, and fraud prevention.
  • To maintain safety, security, and integrity: Detecting, investigating, and preventing misuse, abuse, or illegal activity, and protecting our rights and those of our users.
  • To comply with legal obligations: Where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent, our legitimate interests in providing and improving the App, and/or the necessity of processing for the performance of a contract as legal bases for processing.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

We store data using third‑party cloud providers and database services (including, but not limited to, Supabase or similar vendors), which provide modern security and access‑control measures. We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information, including:
Use of encryption in transit where appropriate.
Access controls restricting who can access production data.
Monitoring for unusual activity and abuse.
However, no system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials and for limiting access to your devices.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:

  • Service providers and vendors: Third‑party providers that host our infrastructure, store data, process payments, provide analytics, deliver emails, or support our customer service. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete or de‑identify it, subject to any legal obligations to retain it.

HouseDoctor is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law in your region).
